“Baby Gets a New Pair of Shoes”
The Kenny Brown CSR-69 gets the Latest Pirelli P-Zero Corsa System Super-Max-Performance Tires

Whether on the street or track, the only thing between you and the road is your tires, or more specifically your tire contact patch. So choosing a tire with grip and performance is really important if you want to go fast on the track.
As some may know, Pirelli P Zero Corsa has been my tire of choice for my CSR (Club Sport Racers) ever since we introduced the CSR series back in 2001. Like I said tire choice is important and I view the Pirelli P Zero Corsa as a superior track day tire.
For the SCMC (SVT Cobra Mustang Club)10th Anniversary track event at VIR (Virginia International Raceway) in May the CSR-69 had a brand new set of shoes - Pirelli P Zero Corsa System street/track tires mounted on super-light Forgeline ZX3R 3-piece wheels.
These P-Zero Corsa System tires are the latest Corsas and the third generation Corsas I have driven and are everything I have come to expect in from Pirelli and more! Phenomenal grip, superior performance, great feedback and extremely stable under all conditions.
The P Zero Corsa System tires are a fabulous compliment to my latest 4th generation Advanced Geometry Suspension. The AGS 4.0 for 2005 and newer Mustangs kept the tire footprint flat on the pavement and the Corsa's gripped like there was no tomorrow.
What makes the Pirelli Corsa so good? It is a max-performance DOT carcass with race rubber and an intermediate race type tread pattern. The "sticky" near-race rubber really gets the job done. The soft compound rubber sticks like glue and the max-performance carcass keeps the tire working hard with a very clever compromise on tread life. They don't have the full-on grip (or super short life) of a full race tire, but they do last longer. Not nearly as long as a regular street tire but long enough to get most of and sometimes a full season out of them, depending on your driving of course. To give you and idea, the P Zero Corsa's UTQG tread rating is 60 - for comparison; most high-performance tires are in the 180 - 220 range and regular street tires from 400 to 620 or more. The race rubber we are using in the Mustang Challenge Series is 40 so the 60 of the Corsa System is really good and really sticky.
Something else I like about the Corsa's is it is a tire you can drive to the track, drive on the track then drive home from the track without ever having to change wheels and tires. Having the capability to go both ways, has great value.
Now you know why I chose Pirelli P Zero Corsa System tires to put on the CSR-69 - I like to go fast and the Corsa's help me do that really, really well.
